  Me gusta artículos como ese sobre invenciones.. El artículo no dijó, pero el límite de 160 caracteres es interesante. En el momento, los telefonos celulares usaban dos canales o frequencias para comunicar - uno para voz, y otro para señales de control. No había muchos señales de control, y los inventores decidieron usar ese canal cuando no estaba señales de control. Porque el canal de control no tenía una banda ancha, ellos necesitaron limitar los tamaños de los mensajes. Para llegar al numero 160, ellos examinaron el tamaño promedio de los mensajes de télex y de las tarjetas postales. No era facil enviar mensajes de texto usando los telefonos en el momento. Los telefonos tenían teclados de numerales, con tres letras en cada tecla. El uso de eses teclados dio la luz a muchos abreviaturas como LOL, THX, BFF, LMAO, y muchos otros.
