An unusual history of the Spanish Civil War
Spanish Book Club gives an opportunity to read and discuss Spanish books as a group over two workshops. This time around, we will look at Juan Eslava Galán's 2005 book Una historia de la guerra civil que no va a gustar a nadie (A History of the Civil War that will Please No One).
This book presents an alternative view of the Spanish Civil War. It reads like a novel but presents things as they really happened. The book follows General Franco and anonymous citizens through the three years of unrest in Spain during the 1930s.
Start reading today! The first session of Spanish Book Club will be held in the Fillmore office from on Friday, December 1st, from 5:30 - 7 pm. It will then continue on Friday, December 8th, from 5:30 - 7 pm. Carmen will lead the workshop.
