Event Description

Read travel memoirs with us about a journey through the Alcarria, a region in Spain near Madrid.
This May, we hold a workshop to talk about Camilo José Cela's book Viaje a la Alcarria (Journey to the Alcarria). Published in 1948, this book records the Nobel Prize winner's journey through the rocky, arid regions in New Castile, Northeast of Madrid. Cela won the prestigious prize in Literature in 1989, and his writing is associated with those that discuss the Spanish Civil War.

The Book Club workshop will take place on Friday, May 5th, and continue on Friday, May 12th, from 5:30-7 pm in the Fillmore office. Instructor Carmen will lead discussion. 

All are welcome to join, not just current students. Bring a friend!
