A Spanish book to add to the summer reading list...

Time to start reading for the next Spanish Book Club workshop! This time, we are reading a collection of short stories called La habitación de Nona (Nona's Room) by Cristina Fernández Cubas. These stories use fantasy and horror to navigate the space between realities. Fernández Cubas, pictured above, has shaped the Spanish short story since 1980. She won the Premio Cuidad de Barcelona and the Premio Salambó for best book in 2008.

The Book Club workshop will take place on Friday, July 8th, and continue on Friday, July 15th, from 5:30-7 pm in the Fillmore Office. Instructor Carmen will lead the discussion.

All are welcome to join, not just current students. Bring a friend!
