El libro pasado que yo leía está Butcher’s Crossing por John Williams. El libro fue sobre un joven hombre que salió de la Universidad el mil ochocientos setentas y fue a Kansas para volverse un cazador de búfalos. El libro es un “anti Western”, por que critica la idea de Western. En el libro, el personaje descubre que el oeste verdadero es cruel y explotador. Él fue en la expedición para cazar los búfalos en Colorado. La descripción de la matanza de búfalos es espeluznante. El personaje principal y sus compañeros no terminan el cazar en tiempo, y quedan atrapado en Colorado por el invierno. El cuento describe su supervivencia y su última caída. En general, me gusta este libro muchísimo. La escritura es espectacular y el cuento es sorprendente e inesperado. Yo lo recomiendo muchísimo!
