Una sistema, no un lenguaje
Si no lo hubiese leido este artículo, no hubiera dado cuenta que el sistema de Braille empezó como una ‘escritura nocturna’ que se usaba en el ejército con los soldados.
Si yo hubiera tenido un accidente de joven como Braille, no sé cómo hubiese salido en el instituto! Hubiese sido duro continuar a estudiar con la desventaja de no poder leer. Si fuera posible, me hubiera gustado asistir a una escuela especial para los niños invidentes.
Lo que más me interesa de este artículo es la idea de que Braille es una sistema de escritura, en vez de un idioma. O sea, los puntos de Braille no corresponden a las letras del alfabeto.Así que aprender leer Braille es aprender usar una sistema completamente nueva, una sistema universal.
