A mi esposo le encanta la remolacha cruda rallada en ensalada así que la comemos mucho. Pero no conocía la historia de ese tubérculo humilde y la ciencia atrás de su color brillante. Lo que me sorprendió más en artículo es que la planta produce la tirosina pero no la necesitaría según el Pr López Nieves. Creía que el principio de la evolución es que todo tiene un propósito, y lo que no es necesario se pierde poco a poco a medida que pasan las generaciones. Esto está en parte explicado por el artículo pero sigo siendo escéptica. En un lado menos serio, aprendí en internet que la remolacha era conocida por los antiguos romanos como afrodisiaco. Eso dicho, los romanos antiguos consideraban muchas cosas como siendo afrodisiacos entonces no significa mucho.
