Bachelet busca volver al poder

Ya sabemos que los chilenos deben volver a las urnas este mes para elegir a su siguiente presidente. Sin duda, Michelle Bachelet va a derrotar a Evelyn Matthei. Lo interesante no es el resultado previsible. Lo interesante es la relación entre estas dos mujeres, una relación que abarcó unos de los periodos más difíciles en la historia de Chile. Bachelet y Matthei se hicieron amigas en la infancia. Sus padres fueron generales en el ejército y disfrutaron una amistad también. Después del golpe de 1973, los dos hombres decidieron elegir veredas opuestas. Sr. Bachelet se quedó leal al presidente Allende. Por eso, él fue detenido por el régimen de Augusto Pinochet y torturado en el cárcel. Se murió allá del ataque cardíaco provocado por su maltratamiento. Michelle Bachelet también fue detenida y torturada. Por contraste, Sr. Matthei apoyó a Pinochet. Él y su familia prosperaron muchísimo. Ahora nosotros tenemos una lucha política entre las dos hijas. Tal vez la justicia, tan ausente durante la época de Pinochet, vaya a triunfar en esta elección.
