Para ser honesta, no me importa un pimiento el fútbol americano. Con el equipo de baile de mi escuela secundaria, pasé años bailando durante partidos de basquetbol y fútbol americano, y todavía no puedo explicar ni las reglas ni como jugar. Entonces, no me molesta mucho el hecho “muy chocante” que el primer partido de fútbol americano tuvo su semilla en Canadá. Mejor! No tenemos que reclamar este deporte tan aburrido. En vez, podemos hablar de otra trivia más interesante como––la forma y material de las pelotas de fútbol americano! Porque las pelotas son ovales hechas del piel de cerdo? Según mis investigaciones, es una historia muy interesante, e un poco perturbadora. Aparentemente, las primeras pelotas de fútbol americano estaban hechas de las vejigas de cerdo––que tienen la forma de un esferoide (que es como o un óvalo). Y puedes imaginar porque las pelotas estaban hechas del piel de cerdo…afortunadamente, ahora están hechas de piel de vaca y goma. Es un poco mejor.
