El artículo describe la cuenta/leyenda del Flautista de Hamelín y como

la ciudad de Hamelín, de la region de Baja Sajonia, Alemania, usa la leyenda comercialmente. No sería la única ciudad para usar una leyenda por porpósitos comerciales. Por ejemplo, la ciudad de Copenhague, usa la imagen de La Sirena en muchas de las mercancías en las tiendas. “La Sirena Pequeña” es un cuento de hadas escrito por Hans Christian Andersen, escrito danes. Publicó en 1837 parte de un collección de cuentos de hadas por niños. La historia sigue el viaje de una sirena joven que esta dispuesto a renunciar su vida para conseguir una alma humana.

Una estatua de la sirena esta en el Puerto de Copenhague, donde la historia fue escrita y publicada por primera vez. La estatua es visitado por un million turistas cada año. Aunque La Sirena es popular, la estatua ha sido vandalizada y decapitada dos veces.
