Es interesante, nunca sabia por qué a diferencia de otros países colonizados por la España, Filipinas no habla mucho español hoy en día. Según el articulo la primera razón es que os misioneros creían que fuera más eficaz en la evangelización de los indigenes de hablar el idioma local. Suena como algo de obvio pero lo admito, todavía no sé por qué la decisión se tomó así en Filipinas y no en otra parte. Es raro para mí que el español se volvió más popular después del fin del control español sobre el archipiélago. Leí en internet un poco más sobre cuándo y cómo el tagalo se convirtió en el idioma nacional. Fue en 1937.
