En la casa de mis abuelos hay una mesa de mármol que antes tuvo un Singer agregado encima. La máquina ya no está allí, pero abajo de la superficie de la mesa todavía hay un pedal de hierro- era una máquina de coser accionada por pie. He probado una de esas máquinas, y la sensación era muy satisfactoria- con solo un poquito de esfuerzo, el pedal comenzó a moverse, la máquina comenzó a girarse, la aguja se levantó y cayó, y el movimiento del peso de la máquina y del pedal parecían mantenerse…
