La clase de Carmen: La tarea 28 mayo 2020

Asumo que esta fábula es de la India y probablemente data de cientos de años atrás.  La lección que el autor quiere que aprendamos es "No es la piel lo que hace temible al león."  Así que ¿qué hace un león temible?  Mi suposición es su rugido.  Entonces creo que la lección se aprende aquí sería algo así como "la ropa puede disfrazar a un tonto, pero sus palabras lo traicionarán" (no finjas ser algo que no eres porque puedes encontrarte en una situación pegajosa).

Pero, no pienso que soy muy buen en la interpretación cuentos con moralejas.  Soy una persona muy literal.  Así que, cuando leí esta fábula, pensé que era el mercader que era un asno y tal vez los granjeros deberían haberlo golpeado en lugar del inocente asno (fue el mercader, no el asno, que tomé de pelo los granjeros). 

Creo que en estas fábulas se usaba un animal para representar al hombre.  Y supongo que cualquiera que lea la fábula o la escuche lo habría entendido.  Pero, si una persona en el siglo 21st está leyendo esta fábula, ¿el resultado sería el mismo?  ¿Vería el lector moderno la misma moraleja o algo diferente?  ¿O sólo soy yo?

Mi moraleja a esta historia; no seas codicioso cuando ya tienes suficiente, tienes mucho más que perder que ganar.
